What is The Cause of Fibromyalgia?
Pain is the root of this disease. Apart from it being chronic, it can result in major impacts in the human body. These patients experience pain, tiredness and general body discomfort. Although it may occur to certain parts of the body, this condition may choose a specific part and keep on migrating. Alternatively, it can affect the whole body of a patient. The causes of this disease are however not identified. But scientists have come up with factors that they think leads to this condition. Some of them will be discussed below.
One of them is hormonal changes. During stress, a hormone known as cortisol is released when a person is undergoing stress, this may often lead to his condition. The following hormones are important in the human body; serotonin and noradrenaline. This is because they are involved in regulating a number of things in the human body. Some of which are; mood, appetite, sleep, behavior and responses to stress. But you will find that patients with fibromyalgia having extremely low levels of these hormones. This often leads to fibromyalgia.
Sleep is also a cause and symptom of fibromyalgia. Patients with this condition lack sleep. Other than that, it makes patients feel extremely tired. The patients become restless and uncomfortable. Another cause of this condition is associated with genes. Patients may end up acquiring this condition depending on their genetic make-up. Although genetics need to expound more on this, some say that some people are more prone to acquire this condition than others.
Some of the following will trigger this condition, however not all may lead to one being infected. One; an injury may make a person stressed for an extended period of time. For example, fatal accidents result to major injuries such as broken limbs. Careers such as footballers and artists may not be able to exercise profession for the rest of their lives. Due to accumulated stress, fibromyalgia may develop.
Also if a person acquires a viral infection, they may get depressed for the rest of their lives. Patients who find out that they have HIV/AIDS may live the rest of their lives cursing themselves. Later on in life, they may end up not accepting themselves. What may develop later in life is fibromyalgia.
In addition, there are major effects if a pregnant woman was operated on while giving birth and later lose the baby. It becomes a painful experience of sorrow and hopelessness. Such mothers take a long time in recovery. Other than stress, such mothers experience pain and anguish. This may lead to fibromyalgia.
Relationships may be healthy or unhealthy. The results of unhealthy relationships are; violence abuses, accidents and breakups. Stress after break ups may lead fibromyalgia. Women are at a higher risk of developing fibromyalgia than men. This is according to researchers who point out that; it is all because of hormones, genes and other immune system differences.
